Building an Emotionally Safe Culture
There are two schools of thought when discussing corporate culture — cognitive culture and emotional culture. Cognitive culture is the shared set of intellectual values, standards, and attitudes that sets the tone of how employees think and behave at work. Whereas, emotional culture is the shared affective values, norms, and assumptions, which govern the feelings people have and are allowed to express at work.
Your company likely has an established cognitive culture and manages it, but your emotional culture is most likely left unmanaged, suppressed, or, worse yet, not even acknowledged. How you feel affects how you behave, and therefore, emotions are a core component in cultivating a strong corporate culture.
This session will delve into tools and techniques for aligning your cognitive culture with your emotional one. We will show you how to put your emotional culture into action to boost commitment and engagement within your teams.
