Learning to Speak Charity

This course provides individuals with the skills and knowledge needed to engage in meaningful philanthropic discussions with both individual and corporate clients. It equips participants to explore more effective ways of enhancing the impact of their clients' generosity, based on existing charitable giving patterns or part of an event based financial strategy. All registration proceeds will be donated to the CPA Manitoba Foundation.

Not eligible for PD Passes.

The presentation offers insights into Canadian philanthropy, donor-advised funds, the use of life insurance for charitable purposes, and effective planning strategies that can offer valuable guidance to clients. Enhancing trust within your client relationships begins with exploring their core philanthropic interests. By pinpointing inefficiencies in their current charitable giving process and proposing more effective strategies, you can not only save your clients money but also amplify their impact on the causes dear to them. This course explores the core concepts of private foundations, donor-advised funds, and harnessing life insurance for greater impact. You'll acquire the skills to devise innovative solutions that can address unrelated tax and estate challenges through strategic adjustments to your client's giving methods. Topics covered include utilizing appreciated securities, private shares, registered assets, corporate investments, existing life insurance policies, and new policies to maximize charitable contributions.
