Leading Strategy into Action

In the day-to-day activity of a business, leaders and managers often overlook the importance of a clearly defined and executable strategy as a critical component to success. This course links leadership “best practice” to the successful implementation of business strategy. It provides tools and techniques to help communicate the key strategic imperatives of a business, align decisions with the business strategy, examine the repercussions of not following the strategy, and explore the link between strategy implementation and the success of a business. The Strategic Leadership Process is introduced.  Participants will also develop a Strategic Implementation Plan.

Leaders and managers who lead small and large organizations in government, non-profit, charitable, and small businesses, managers of business units, project teams, work groups, and professional practices. 

Learning Objectives
By the end of this course, participants should be able to:

  • Define the strategic imperative of their business and align local business unit or department strategy with the overall business strategy
  • Assess the impact of management decisions on value disciplines
