Public Accounting Annual Permit Renewals

Annual permit renewals are for firms registered to provide public accounting services or other regulated services. The annual permit and practitioner fee notices will be mailed to each practicing firm and professional corporation in late August with a required payment date of October 1, 2020.  Late fees will be assessed for any permit fees, practitioner fees and/or PLI declarations outstanding after October 14, 2020. 

Additionally, each firm will be required to declare that they maintain professional liability insurance (PLI) as required as per Bylaw 871. 

All partners and practice leaders are also required to complete the annual declaration for the services they provide. Engagement Practice Leaders responsible for audits of financial statements are required to complete a declaration of their compliance with the CPD requirements as required by IES 8 (Revised).

As a reminder, public accounting or other regulated services can only be provided by members who have registered a firm with CPA Manitoba and been granted a permit by the CPA Manitoba Registration Committee.

Any member providing services through a currently registered firm in which the member has overall responsibility for engagements in a certain stream, must be assessed as eligible by CPA Manitoba prior to providing such services.
