Empowering Indigenous Learners

Tailored CPA Certification Program Offerings To Launch This Spring

CPA Manitoba is excited to share that the Aboriginal Financial Officers Association of Alberta (AFOA Alberta) and CPA Western School of Business (CPAWSB) have collaborated to pilot two courses for Indigenous learners across Western Canada. These courses are based on the current CPA certification program and are tailored to meet the unique preferences and expectations of Indigenous learners.

The two course offerings include Introductory Financial Accounting (IFA) at the prerequisite level and Core 1 Module of the CPA Professional Education Program (CPA PEP). Each course has been developed by Indigenous subject matter experts with Indigenous content and context, will be taught by Indigenous instructors, and supported by Indigenous facilitators. Learners will also have opportunities to meet in-person throughout the courses and have access to mentors.
