Calling All Future CPA Manitoba Board Members

Nominations are open for the 2024 CPA Manitoba Board election. CPA Manitoba members in good standing, who reside in the province, and who want to contribute to CPA Manitoba and our profession should consider nomination. The deadline to have a nomination approved by CPA Manitoba is Monday, May 27, 2024, at 4:00 pm.

CPA Manitoba is preparing all Annual General Meeting (AGM) processes electronically and in accordance with the Bylaws. This includes a digital nomination and election, as well as a hybrid AGM (in-person and virtual) being held on Wednesday, June 26, 2024, at 9:00 am. More information on the AGM will follow. CPA Manitoba works with BigPulse, a full-service provider of secure online elections. This platform will be exclusively used to collect nomination submissions as well.

Board Composition and Diversity
The goal of the CPA Manitoba Board is to ensure, as much as possible, that its composition accurately reflects the diversity of the membership in our province. This includes diversity of perspective, expertise, gender, ethnicity and geography. In addition, the Board will aim to have representation from a variety of industry sectors, including small, medium, and large enterprises, government, education and public practice.

Our profession is at an important inflection point and we need strategic leaders who can be part of the influential decision-making related to the New Certification Program, national collaboration, new standards and more.

Members in good standing who feel they can contribute to our profession should consider putting their names forward for nomination. Importantly, CPA Manitoba continues to prioritize diversity and inclusion on the Board and throughout the organization and profession. Lasting change can only happen if we all take continued action to address systemic racism and structural inequality while creating opportunities for priority communities. As such, we encourage nominations for Indigenous peoples, racialized persons, women, 2SLGBTQ+ persons and persons with disabilities.

The CPA Manitoba Board has created an information sheet to summarize the current composition and demographics of the Board members. We hope the information assists members in making informed choices throughout the election process.
