2020 Common Final Examination (CFE) a Success

After an extraordinary number of planning and logistical challenges due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the three-day 2020 Common Final Examination (CFE) was completed on September 11 by candidates across Canada. 220 Manitoba-based writers completed the exam in Winnipeg or Brandon.

In order to ensure the safety of participants and health guidelines set out by governments across Canada, the CFE was held in hotels instead of more traditional writing centres. Each candidate was given their own hotel room with the door propped open as volunteer invigilators monitored from the hallways. All participants had to complete a pre-screening questionnaire, answer daily health questions and comply with physical distancing guidelines.

“I want to thank everyone who volunteered to assist in the implementation of the CFE,” said Geeta Tucker, FCPA, FCMA, President & CEO of CPA Manitoba. “In order to ensure a safe environment, more volunteers were required this year and that support was crucial to being able to deliver the exam during the COVID-19 pandemic.”
