The Auditing and Assurance Standards Board approved Canadian Standard on Related Services (CSRS) 4200, Compilation Engagements at their October 2019 meeting. The new standard will replace existing Section 9200, Compilation Engagements, and Assurance and Related Services Guideline (AuG) 5, Compilation Engagements – Financial Statement Disclosures for periods ending on or after December 14, 2021.

This session will discuss the key aspects of the Exposure Draft, “Compilation Engagements" and update the status of the new standard expected to be issued in the February 2020 CPA Canada Handbook – Assurance update.  The session will provide a forum for practitioners to discuss anticipated challenges and solutions related to the proposed new standard.

This forum will be facilitated by Dean Austin, FCPA, FCA. Dean is a partner at Scarrow & Donald, Chartered Professional Accountants, LLP. He provides a wide range of enterprises with assurance, accounting, tax and business advisory services. His professional service experiences include publicly and privately held enterprises in real estate, hospitality, mining, manufacturing and transportation sectors as well as not-for-profit organizations.
