Preparatory Courses
The CPA preparatory courses are a suite of 14 accelerated, intensive courses that provide the knowledge requirements for admission to the CPA Professional Education Program (CPA PEP).
Designed so that you can continue your journey as a working professional, these part-time courses combine online learning and self-study to give you the foundation in business and accounting required for your success.
The CPA preparatory courses are designed for those who:
- Have an undergraduate degree but lack some or all of the CPA prerequisites required for CPA PEP.
The 14 CPA Preparatory Courses are split into five non-core and nine core courses. Non-core courses are offered through open enrollment, while core courses
are offered five times annually. Students complete only the courses they require for admission to CPA PEP. If you have taken accounting and/or finance courses at a recognized post-secondary institution, you may be eligible for course exemptions. Potential
exemptions are determined by our transcript assessment process, which must be completed before being able to register for any preparatory courses.
Eligibility Requirements for CPA Preparatory Courses
- One year (30 credit hours) of post-secondary in any discipline, diploma or degree program offered by any recognized post-secondary institution; or
- Three years of relevant work experience
Note: Students are required to complete a degree before admission to the CPA Professional Education Program (CPA PEP).
