Applicant Category

Applicant Category Description

 
Canadian Post-secondary Applicant Applicants with a Canadian undergraduate or master’s degree in any field of study. 
International Post-secondary Applicant

Applicants with an International (Non-Canadian) undergraduate or master’s degree in any field of study.

Note: if you have also completed a Canadian undergraduate or graduate degree you should apply as an applicant with a Canadian degree.
International Federation of Accountants (IFAC) Applicant  Applicants who are designated members of an international accounting body without a separate agreement that is part of the International Federation of Accountants (IFAC). An IFAC Applicant’s eligibility for CPA PEP is assessed based on their IFAC designation. 

Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) Applicant

  • Institute of Chartered Accountants of Pakistan (ICAP)
  • Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI).
Fully qualified members in good standing with the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI) or the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Pakistan (ICAP) and who meet certain requirements, may be eligible to apply to CPA PEP as an MOU Applicant.  
Non-IFAC International Accounting Professional Applicant (Non-IFAC Applicants)
Applicants who are designated accountants of an international accounting body that is not a member body of the International Federation of Accountants (IFAC). If your membership is with an accounting institution that is not a member of IFAC, you are required to apply to CPAWSB as an applicant with an international degree.
Please note: Non-IFAC applicants will have the opportunity to submit documentation in support of their international accounting credential, such as a Letter of Good Standing, for consideration alongside your international degree(s). 
Mature Applicant 
Applicants who do not have a Bachelor’s (undergraduate) degree, but have eight or more years of relevant work experience in accounting or finance may be eligible to apply to CPA PEP as a Mature Entrant. A Mature Entrant Applicant’s eligibility for CPA PEP is assessed based on their previous relevant work experience. 
Please note: The Mature Entrant pathway is not a guaranteed route into CPA PEP.
