Understanding the Employment Standards Act

Accounting firms in Canada are businesses subject to employment standards. In Manitoba firms are governed by the Employment Standards Act. It is an ever-changing piece of legislation that can be difficult to navigate.

This course will support accountants, as business owners, to navigate employment standards in Manitoba.

The key aspects of compliance will be broken down into plain language with actionable steps. This will assist in the decision to hire versus engaging services as a contractor and add clarity to the employment relationship. By better understanding employment standards, it will also enable the accounting firm to become an employer of choice. Participants will be engaging via small and large group discussion, question and answer and real-world examples and case studies.
