The Truth about Colonialism – Then and Now
Participants of this half-day session will be provided with an overview of the history of Indigenous Peoples in Canada and will learn about the impact of colonialization from contact until today.
Participants will be guided through an overview of the history of Indigenous Peoples and the long-lasting effects of colonization and restrictive legislation; some of which still exists today. This session will help participants gain a better understanding of the challenges Indigenous Peoples faced and still face, as well as how every person has role to play in reconciliation. Participants will learn where to access more information and resources, should you choose.
